Liam & Michelle’s place
Hello friends and family! We’ve built this page to give you all the info you need to book the place, with everything you need to know.
It’s a brand new 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom ground floor apartment with big terrace and garden with sea view.
The beach (with beach bar / food of course) is 12-13 mins walk from our door and Uber taxis can take you anywhere from the front door. The nearest big town for bars, restaurants etc is a pleasant 30 min walk along the beach or 5 min taxi.
Live Calendar
First up, where is it?
So it’s just outside a lovely small marina town called ‘Puerto De La Duquesa’ on the Costa Del Sol. Duquesa has a nice castle ruins for the culture vultures and 10km of boardwalk down a nice beach for fitness freaks. Our place is 15 mins from Estepona or 25 mins from Marbella (Puerto Banus) but most things you’d need are walkable or within a 10 min drive.
Closest airports & transfer time
We’ve got some agreed prices with a trusted driver, Gabor who you can text directly through WhatsApp on +34631019161.
Malaga (AGP) - 55 min transfer - €95 each way
Flights from Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds Bradford
Gibraltar (GIB) - 25 min transfer - €45 each way
Flights from Manchester only
Malaga is almost always the cheapest for flights so we generally get a car hire from there and drive down (less than €100 for a week hire). But if you can get a cheap-ish flight to Gibraltar it’s a shorter transfer, cheaper transfer and smaller quieter airport :).
Pictured - Puerto de la Duquesa with 30+ bars incl our local ‘Dooley’s Irish bar’ and 20+ restaurants or more fancy restaurants in Sotogrande 15 mins away.
Quick video tour
We made this video when we were finishing off the garden, but it gives you a good idea of what the kitchen dining area looks like going to the outside terrace area. Terrace looks like this!
The property is on a brand new, gated complex with 3 pools, private gym, sauna & steam room (in Winter), well maintained gardens, sun terrace, pool table and communal areas.
One of our criteria when buying is that this should feel like a holiday resort, and it does. So it’s safe and great for kids while feeling quiet and private.
No on-site bar unfortunately but that’s what our big garden and terrace area is for! Wine is €2-3 per bottle!

Kitchen dining area
Tastefully decorated with three seater sofa, table and chairs for 4 and modern kitchen. There is also a utility room with washing machine and drying machine.
Master bedroom
Double bed with large patio doors opening out to the terrace, with built-in wardrobes for plenty of storage. En suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2
Smaller space with 2 twin beds, also with built-in wardrobes. This has access to the master bathroom which essentially acts as the en-suite.
Where do we get the keys?
Most of the time, we’ll have given you the keys before you go and you’ll bring them back to us - however if that’s not possible or we’re doing it a different way you’ll pick up the keys from a lock box using a code. We’ll give you the info for the property management company and they will give you the code etc.
Debbie and Paul use an office in Puerto de la Duquesa and we’d provide directions etc to the lock box, which is 5 mins away from the property. You’d drive there first in the taxi or in a car if you go for car hire.
-
The ‘Uber’ app works here and taxis will come to our gate normally within 5-10 mins. From Duquesa town we normally use the taxi rank there, and you can pay them with cards.
-
Ask for ‘Princess Kristina’ as all the drivers know that statue, which is just in front of our place ‘Pure South’.
-
Lidl in Sabinillas is probably the best, a 10 min drive. Eroski Supermarket is also good with a 6 min drive. Or if it's a Sunday, or late, or you just need bits Aldea Hills Shop is open all the time and 3 min drive or just about walkable. Click the links to go to these on Google Maps for opening times, directions etc.
-
No, not really. We have everything there except a hair dryer. So iron, ironing board, towels etc.
-
Yes, kitchen includes electric hob, oven and microwave. Has kettle, toaster, dishwasher, fridge freezer and all pans, utensils etc needed
What do we do for cleaning etc?
To have it in the best condition for the next guests, we use a property management / cleaning company and they charge us €17 per hour plus €35 per bedroom for the laundry and bedding. If you can have a whip around and do everything other than the laundry they can do the rest.
We will just add around £80 to your stay to cover all that so you don’t need to worry.
Their names are Debbie and Paul, also from England (Stoke on Trent) so you may see them in passing.
They can do a meet and greet or buy you some supplies to have at the property for a small extra cost. Just let us know if you’d like to add that!
